Your website ranks for exactly one search on Google, and it has nothing to do with solar

This review is about who your website brings in. We went through the site, your search rankings and your reviews. The main findings: Google shows your site for one search total, unrelated to solar or security, at position 69, sending zero visitors. Solar PV is the first service listed on your homepage, and you have a full dedicated page about it, but the words "Solar PV" never appear in the title Google actually shows for your site, only your security services do. Your 5.0 rating from 44 reviews doesn't appear anywhere on the website either. It's all detailed below, with what to do about each one.

01 The rankings

One ranking, and it isn't about solar

This is the entire organic search footprint of gcss.ie. Not one solar search, not one security search, nothing about Wicklow, Dublin or Wexford. Just this.

What people GooglePeople / monthYour situation
ggl security11069th, zero visits. Unrelated to solar or your own security services.Off-topic

A site with a licensed solar installer, real project photos and a dedicated Solar PV page should rank for at least a handful of searches about solar in its own three counties. It ranks for none of them, because nothing in the page Google reads first, the title, says "solar" at all.

02 The specifics

Four things holding the site back

The site and the credentials are real. What's missing is aim: nothing tells Google that Solar PV is something you do.

Missing
Solar PV never appears in your Google title
Your title reads "GCSS Limited (Irish Security Solutions) - CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Gate Automation, Intercoms wicklow." Five services are named. Solar PV isn't one of them, even though it's the first service listed on the page itself and you have a dedicated page for it.
Hidden
Solar is mentioned once, at the very end of your listing
Your Google description does mention Solar PV, one sentence, at the very end, after intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and gate automation are all named first. Anyone scanning the search result sees security five times before solar once.
Missing
Your rating isn't shown anywhere on the site
5.0 stars from 44 reviews is a strong record. Neither the homepage nor the Solar PV page mentions it. A homeowner comparing installers has no way to see it without leaving your site to check Google directly.
Stale
The grant figure is labelled "in 2025"
Your Solar PV page says the SEAI grant is worth up to 1,800 euro "(in 2025)." The figure itself is still correct this year, but the year tag reads as last year's copy and makes the page look out of date to anyone checking it now.
Worth noticing

The content exists and the credentials are genuinely strong, three real registrations on one page is more than most installers show. What's missing is aim: the words that tell Google, and a visitor scanning search results, that solar is something you do. That's steady work on the existing pages, not a redesign.

03 Done for you

The fixes, already written out

Each fix below is ready to hand to whoever manages the site.

Fix 1 · New text for your Google listing
This is what people see when GCSS comes up on Google today, next to what it should say. The current version leads entirely with security. The new version leads with solar, names the three counties you serve, and shows the rating.
What Google shows now
https://gcss.ie
GCSS Limited (Irish Security Solutions) - CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, Gate Automation, Intercoms wicklow
GCSS Limited is an Electronic Security company based in Co. Wicklow. We offer a range of intruder alarm systems, CCTV systems, Access Control systems, video/audio only intercoms and gate automation. We are a registered company with SEAI for Solar PV grants and installations.
What it should show
https://gcss.ie
Solar PV Installers Wicklow, Dublin & Wexford | GCSS Limited
SEAI registered Solar PV installations across Wicklow, Dublin and Wexford. Licensed by the Private Security Authority and Safe Electric. Rated 5 stars on Google.
Fix 2 · Sharpen the Solar PV page you already have
The page exists and the content on it is genuinely good. It just needs a title of its own and the county names built in, instead of relying on the rest of the site to carry the signal.
/solar-pv : give this page its own title tag naming Wicklow, Dublin and Wexford, not just "Solar PV installations. SEAI registered"
Grant paragraph : drop the "(in 2025)" year tag, the 1,800 euro figure is still correct, the label just reads as stale
Homepage nav : "Solar PV" already leads your services list, make sure it also leads the page title
Fix 3 · The remaining quick fixes
Small, verified items that take minutes each.
Add "Rated 5.0 from 44 reviews on Google" near the top of both the homepage and the Solar PV page
Move Solar PV ahead of the other services in the meta description, not just the on-page list
Add a short line naming Wicklow, Dublin and Wexford on the Solar PV page itself, not only in the body text
04 The plan

What to do and when

Start at the top. The bottom block is the work that actually gives Google a reason to show the Solar PV page for a solar search.

the aim work
Build out the Solar PV page with a Wicklow-specific section. Your strongest county, currently unranked for anything solar.

Revisit once the title change settles. After a few weeks of Google reading "solar" in your title, check whether any of the county+solar searches start to appear at all.

05 What it adds up to

Run your own numbers on it

Here's the honest version of this sum. Right now no solar search sends your site anything measurable, not one visit, so there's no real search volume yet to add up. That's not a reason to leave it as it is, it's the reason to fix the title first: once "Solar PV" and your counties are in the one place Google reads before anything else, the opportunity becomes something we can actually measure and revisit with you.

Why sooner beats later

Right now, everything about how this domain reads to Google says "security company." Every month that continues is a month a homeowner in Wicklow searching for a solar installer finds someone else's page instead of the one you've already built.
